Dr. Manhattan In A BUNNY SUIT

And now, just to swing the pendulum the other way from Grimdark Brawl, enjoy some G-Rated Watchmen—the version well-meaning clueless parents thought they were taking their four-year-olds to when they didn’t notice the R rating. Rorschach will take your ice cream AND your candy if you don’t tell him who put the Comedian in time-out!

DA is being a poopface contrary, so I am not sure if this link to the gallery page where it starts will work, but I trust you net-savvy nerds to figure it out.

There was a four-year-old child brought to the 10 PM showing we attended. ... I was a busybody and went and told the parents that it is a violent movie with full frontal nudity. They ignored me. I was very angry.

Man, and I thought kids at The Dark Knight was bad. (Dude, I will sign IN BLOOD and notarize a statement guaranteeing that if the Joker doesn't scare the piss out of a kid, Two-Face sure as balls will.)

Completely unrelated, but I saw this Penny Arcade comic and immediately thought of you.

Dude, the My Little Ponies movie scared me at that age.

*grin* I've been getting that a lot. It's eerie, y'know? ;)

Yeah, I hid from the Beast in Beauty and the Beast.

No, literally. HID. In the theater bathroom.

On the other hand, I was not afraid of Lord Kuruku from that Unico movie until I watched it recently. GOOD GOD IT'S MADE OF EVIL.

GEE I WONDER WHY.

Except I don't wonder. I just find it amusing.

When we went to see Watchman, there was a guy with a kid who couldn't have been older than 6 sitting in the same row as us. The thing is, I'm pretty sure the guy knew perfectly well the movie was rated R, he just didn't care. At least that's my assumption since they sat and watched the whole thing, rather than leaving in a huff. The child was really well behaved, but I just kept thinking "holy shit dude, parts of this movie are going to give ME nightmares, what the hell is WRONG with you?" I mean I actually covered my eyes in a couple places, and the rape scene left me freaked out for days afterward. (Not that I expect a small male child to have the same reactions to violence against women as an adult female, but still.)
