I imagine it was cut because it didn’t quite fit the mood of the movie. However, I think it displays some of the aspects that make the Batman character truly great--he clearly has spent years training for any eventuality, and it shows that anyone can be a hero with the right training--and equipment, of course.  And the extent of the Joker's true deviousness definitely comes out toward the end. Thoughts?

The swim trunks remind me of the Batman action figures that have taunted me my entire life -- always wearing some unforeseen specialty armor, never the standard black. Curse you, marketing geniuses!
