Quote of the Day To Lighten the Mood

“I had to call your brother and tell him not to park on the roast.”

Today’s quote brought to you by Mom’s solar oven, which comprises a dutch oven and a thing that looks a lot like those cardboard slats with the tinfoil on ’em that people used to use to get good tans.

If you thought our kitchen sounded scary, just wait’ll I tell you about our driveway food.

I was just talking about making one of these the other day.
We had a roll of foil that we left in a rubbermaid thingy with some red potatoes after our camping trip. Left it in there much too long, actually, which left the box for the foil smelling awful, and the foil itself somewhat suspect.

I suggested we get some cardboard and cut out ribs for a parabolic mirror and build a solar oven.

For some reason she looked at me a little askance. I don't know why...

Oooooh, awesome! I think I tried to cook a hot dog with tinfoil once when I was a kid... I was too impatient for it to work, though.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. :D
