Two Months

Damn, Dan Peek, why you gotta write such a warm fuzzy song? His sweet little pet love song “Today’s the Day” just popped up on my iPod and now I’m thinking of Charlie and sniffling.

I miss that kittybug. I wish I’d gotten to say good-bye, and that it’d happened some years down the road. As it is, all I’ve got is sketchy reports of a mountain lion chewing up pets in this area to give me a clue where she’s gone. Now all I’ve got is pictures.

Photobucket

You can guess where she is going to wind up next.

Photobucket

Yup.

Photobucket

One of my favorite habits of hers—covering her eyes when she slept. I’m glad I got a photo.

Photobucket

A couple years ago. Charlie investigates Josh’s present to me.

Photobucket

Another habit of hers was to take the sixth chair at the dinner table when we all sat down. She was convinced we were holding out on her, but whenever we let her try what we were eating, she scoffed at it.

Photobucket

She had the prettiest face. I wish I had more shots of this little princess face.

Poor Bug. But she had a full life—a nice territory to roam, lots of people who gave her Fancy Feast and places to sit, half a tongue, an ongoing war with her sister, a fondness for ice cream, tandem naps with her human, a successful Mouse-Killin’ Song, a sophisticated radar for tuna melts, and a long-lasting friendship with her kittenhood buddy, Huckleberry the rabbit. I just wish she could’ve had more of it.

Aww, I'm sorry, hon. We had a cat disappear on us last year... he was a good boy, tiny, black/brown/grey with long hair. Total ragdoll, too; you could flop him around all over the place and he didn't care at all. (We also had a really friendly tortie that belonged to a neighbour disappear sometime around June this year...)

Charlie's a beautiful cat. I love torties.

*hugs* I remember when you said she'd disappeared - awful to think she'll never come home. She's a gorgeous cat, reminds me a lot of ours. Sammie also does that thing where he covers his eyes when he sleep. It's the most freaking adorable thing in the world, no contest. But I'm glad you at least have these pictures to remember her by.

Kitteh! :(

Here's my Kisen, who disappeared some time before Charlie, and likewise hasn't returned. title or description
He lived with my parents, so I wasn't seeing him very often, but waaaah I miss him! Just look at that pic and consider this: he's a short-haired Norwegian Forest Cat, so that fur is was not only incredibly thick, but also very, very soft. And he never objected to being picked up and cuddled, even by strangers, so as we don't have any mountain lions here I'm hoping he's just decided to live with someone else.

:(

I'm so sorry. The empty space where a cat is supposed to be is hard to fill. Not knowing exactly what happened makes it sadder. :( *hugs*

The face-covering trick is adorable.

Thank you for sharing these, both the pictures and the memories attached with them. In some ways it does, but in some ways it doesn't matter whether it's been two months or two years. I still have the pictures of her we took on my hard drive, too.

Makes me glad I'm taking pictures of Eowyn. One of the things that makes me really sad about Nessus dying last year is that we had almost no pictures of him.

Looks like she was a total sweetheart.

Awww... it's always hard to lose a baby.

She was beautiful. Has the same type of coloring as my Molly.

I have some interesting face shots of Chuckerton if you need. Some are weird cuz I was playing with the settings on my camera, but others are really cool. I've also got some good action shots. I'll hook you up if you need/want.
