It Wasn't That Funny To Begin With, Anyway

New book in the library today: Zombies of Lake Woebegotten by "Harrison Geillor."

That does it. I am declaring Zombie Remixes to be Old Meme. Time to come up with the next novelty novel genre to torment booksellers and librarians with.

Also, I hereby demand that publishers place a moratorium on any titles that cram the words "dead," "vampire," "fang," or any other undead term into stock idioms and pretend they are puns. Yes, I'm looking at you, Michele Bardsley, and you, Kathy Love. You are spoiling it for the rest of us.

With Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I must admit the idea itself was entertainingly juxtaposed--an uptight Regency romance interspersed with blood'n'guts action sequences was pretty funny.

But you're right even that doesn't seem to warrant a whole book. At most I can see it being the subject of an increasingly ridiculous brainstorming session like the ones my sister and I tend to go off on. The title is a suggestion; the rest should be left up to you to play with.
