I Blame The Internet

DVD ON SHELVING RACK: The Grinch Grinches The Cat In The Hat

IDLE THOUGHTS: You know, for some reason that always sounded really, really creepy to me.

SANITY PRESERVATION UNIT: *shudder* I sense a disturbance in the Force!

IT: Of course, Dr. Seuss always kind of weirded me out. Something under his innocent books held a sort of vaguely Giger-esque dark madness for me.*

SPU: My god, she’s going to—

IT: And the idea of putting those two characters in the same feature seems somehow to hint at a monstrous clash of the titans.

SPU: RED ALERT, RED ALERT! STOP THIS TRAIN OF THOUGHT! ALL STOP!

IT: And what do we mean by the verb “to grinch,” anyway? Way too sinister-sounding.** I can’t really come up with any definition that doesn’t sound—

SPU: *dramatic slow-motion dive* NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!

IT: —like … Grimdark Seuss.

UNBIDDEN MENTAL IMAGES: *abound*

THE REST OF AMELIA’S BRAIN: GAAAAAH MUST CLEANSE WITH FIRE.

SPU: I have failed. *commits seppuku*

Obviously my Idle Thoughts are trying to grinch me. I kind of wish my Sanity Preservation Unit didn't have The Bishop’s timing.

*Also true, to a much greater extent even, of Gumby. Seuss I still like; Gumby is goddamn Lovecraftian horror. I am absolutely terrified of him.

**Trust me, the theft of Christmas would be the least of your worries.

I love you brain xD

My SPU gave up on me years ago, when it learned that no matter what it did, the tangents and the IT would just keep over running it.
