Not Even Her Peacock Feather Could Interest Her
Today, the cat is bored.
And not the kind of bored where she lies around secure in the comfort that she doesn’t have to do anything. This is the kind where she follows me around aimlessly, mewing plaintively every once in a while, and has difficulty deciding what to do.
It’s … a little trying.
CAT: I’m booooored!
AMELIA: Well, you could have a bit of milk.
CAT: *sniff* I don’t want milk!
AMELIA: Want to go outside?
CAT: *looks out door* It’s hot out there, and cloudy, and I don’t wanna.
AMELIA: Well, you could nap in your favorite spot on my bed.
CAT: I’m not sleepy.
AMELIA: How about if you beat up your favorite chair?
CAT: This chair is no fun. Neither is the string you’ve got.
AMELIA: Well, frankly, cat, I’m out of ideas. Why don’t you go read a book?
CAT: *sigh*

I've seen our cats do that. They get rather surly with the others if the others try to make them play when in that state.
And don't think a can of gooshy foods will do the trick. Even if you open her the most favorite thing in the world, she will turn her tail to it.

Though he usually finally decides on chasing one of the girl cats. Which leads to a lot of hissing, shrieking, and things being knocked over.
He DOES always (so far) manage to get interested in the laser pointer. But I'm sure he'll get tired of that too at some point.

Actually, I love that whole album, and have since I was a kid. Other chumps had modern emo music for junior high; I had goddamn Paul McCartney.
Because what could express my inner pain and tumultuous adolescent confusion better than "I GOT WHAT I GOT FROM BALLROOM DANCING!"?
