Diagnosis: You're In Mombasa, And It's December

Don't worry, don't worry, I still haven't gotten eaten by a lion or a grue or an elephant. But the Saga Of Where The Hell I've Been For The Last Few Months* shall have to go on the back burner for a little while, on account of having to write forty pages of scholarly substance by Friday, as well as the uncomfortable sense that somebody has curried my eyeballs--which is making me rather nervous, since the last time I felt that way IT DID NOT TURN OUT WELL.** So! Your forecast week is Partly Commenty With A Slight Chance Of Entries.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled websurf.

*Up next: How our Academic Director turned out to be a LYING BASTARD, and why that made us love him all the more. Also, monkeys! And vegetable soup! And lions! Tune in!

**A joke that does work here: "Good lord, it's so hot I can't even tell if I'm running up a fever!"

They have grue in Kenya?

They have grue EVERYWHERE. And it gets very dark very fast here, so you've got to be on your guard.

Curried eyeballs sounds a) singularly unpleasant and b) like something that's a delicacy in some parts of the world.

A, we have discussed this! If I find you're having malaria AGAIN, I shall be most cross with you! Most cross!

G'luck with all the academic stuff. Time to pay the piper for the dance, eh?
