Nope, they're venomous. This is something people are just discovering, but apparently they do have venom glands, and the stuff in them does quite venomy things, like prevent blood clotting and inducing shock and causing muscle spasms.

Although I am sure the bacteria don't help. Cats and humans aren't venomous, but you really don't want to get bitten by either species anyway.
