I had considered this feline tendency as one possibility--Desmond Morris addressed it in one of his cat books. There's been a lot of romanticizing about cats going off to die, but Morris points out, rather unfortunately, that it's probably just the cat trying to hide from whatever is ailing it. (Cats are stupid.)
As far as I know, though, Charlie was pretty healthy. My best guess is that she was scared by a thunderstorm and ran away from THAT, and got lost. Either way, she's still not back, which sucks, but I'm starting to get used to the idea that she might be Gone Foreverz.
I'll be watching the August 19th live Rifftrax (and hell, I entered the contest to win an iPad, because why not). Should be a good distraction, yes!
I will let you know about the project once I get it viable! At this point it has hit a setback, in the form of Not Enough Of One Thing I Need. We will fix that soon enough!
