Lest We Forget

I didn’t manage to post it in a timely fashion, but this right here is my favorite article so far on the whole Haitian-child-stealing Baptists fiasco.

I just love the unintentional irony with which the relative of a couple of the detained Americans declares that it’s just not fair that he can’t talk to his family members and he’s worried they’re not being given basic human necessities.

You know how people talk about “monumental stupidity”? If we ever build that monument, I have some names I’d like to add to the plaque.

You know, this is why I am in favor of slowing the fuck down and making sure all those kids in Haiti* that still have families find them before we start with the 'must adopt poor, underprivileged children'.

* Okay, given the scale, it's probably impossible to ensure that no one gets overlooked, so maybe 'the vast majority, with extensive records kept so mistakes can be corrected quickly when found'.

You know the thing that jumped out at me, but nobody else seems to have brought up yet? They say they "planned to build an orphanage", as in, they got a bunch of kids and were then going to make a building to put them in. What were they going to do in the meantime, leave the kids on the bus? Yet another reason to think the "orphanage" story is BS.
