We recycled wrapping paper down to where it got cut up and used for gift tags, because we had no money for things like wrapping paper. To this day, I cannot rip the paper off a present. CAN NOT. I must slit the tape carefully and unwrap gently, even if I *know* the paper is going to go in the fireplace in about fifteen minutes.

I should start writing letters again if for no other reason than to use sealing wax.
