I actually ended up dropping out of the gifted program for fifth grade because I had a teacher like that, who didn't seem to grasp that no, I wouldn't know what happened in class on Monday when I was out for the entire day, and that it might be a good idea to inform me of these things.

I ended up rejoining the year after, when not only did I have teachers who were of the sane sort, but there were honors classes that took the place of the regular ones rather than an all-day thing that was completely unrelated.
