Ah! I spent a semester in Italy, of all places, and I AM Italian and look it too...they just somehow always know when you're not from around there, even if you don't open your mouth. I TOTALLY relate, I think all outdoor vendors must also get a pamphlet of bad English pick-up lines to memorize as well, lol.
