I really, really like hearing people talk about areas they love. I think it's because I relate, even if it's for different areas (the Olympic rainforest, the rogue river valley). There's a deep connection to it, the sense of awe that drives people to create hundreds of sunset paintings that all end up unbearably smaltzy.
