My senior year I accidentally sat on my glasses and had to wear my emergency back-up pair--prescription sunglasses--until they got fixed. To get them fixed I had to send them home to IL from NY. At the time, the lenses on the backup pair were coke-bottle thick. If I went without my glasses for longer than about fifteen minutes I would get a nasty headache.

Now, my vision is significantly better because I had a very expensive doctor carve out bits of my cornea with a laser. Consider getting your eyes fixed when your prescription stabilizes.
