I suspect that the theory behind electromagnetic fields is that thought is bioelectric impulse between neurons, so if you've got some odd spiking with nothing to account for it, perhaps it is a stray bit of consciousness, memory, or whathaveyou.

I am pretty sure we make dents in the universe, in one way or another.
